I'm a minor in california and i recently got a non- felony marijuana charge. I went to court for the citation and the judge said that my record we'll clear after i complete my drug program. My question is that can i still become a police officer. And once my record is cleared from the court can they still see my charge or is it tottally dropped?

They'll see the charge and conviction during a background for LE. Its nothing though. Yuo had better reveal it when it comes to your PHQ though.

You can as others have said... you were charged as a minor. But if you get busted again, minor or not you can just hang the idea up. It's over for now.

But that should be easy. You have a goal right? It is a way of thinking charge or not. Don't associate with those who smoke and if you really want the job you will get it.

If you are a minor (under 18) your record (misdemeanors only) will be completely cleared from California law when you become 21. However the FBI will retain every record ever collected on you, and then it could possibly be forwarded to other law enforcement agencies later on (at their discretion).

Most agencies probably will not take you but there are some larger agencies that will accept minor marijuana use as long as it was some years between the time of the use and the application.

Yes, you can still be a police officer. They will know about your record, but they will know you got through the program and that you never messed up after that, right?

I can't really help you with this question. Except the best thing to do is keep yourself straight and you won't ever have to
face a problem like this. If you want to be a cop just try and take it to the limits.

Possibly, But your limiting your options. And you already lost some of the most prestigious positions available.

You could still fit well into a defense atturney position. HAHA

The charge will be cleared after your 18th birthday.

The judge gave you a Deferred adjudication. Feel good that he helped you.. Now go help yourself... Get help and stay off Drugs...

The police will always be able to check your record so make sure you divulge it when the time comes. It will NOT dq you, only felony drugs (E, heroin, crack) or selling dope.
