Do police actually cite pedestrians for ignoring a fixed traffic signal? Crossing in front of traffic?

problem is, we as motorists are charged with disregarding a signal, if we roll through a stop sign. But pedestrians can ride and walk through a red light, a "do not cross signal", and many others. Question still is is, why are these people not ticketed when seen by police?

Yes, it can happen. Laws like that are made for the safety of the pedestrians and bicycalists....and to protect the wallets of the drivers so they can't be sued by some moron who was hit by a vehicle after they stepped out in front of moving traffic.

I am sorry to say I do not know the laws of this country regarding pedestrians ignoring fixed traffic signs & crossing in front of traffic as I am from the United Kingdom & have only been living here for almost 2 years, but I would think common sense would deter people from walking infront of traffic.

I guess it depends on where you live. In big cities, it's rare to be cited.

I suppose some communities do enforce it just like jaywalking.
