ok...im going to redo my room soon...since i havent done like anything to it since i was 5...and im now almost 15! so, yeah...i've already picked out which colors i want to paint it...i want it to be like a white background with like polka dots in the colors: "sweet midori", "tropical holiday", "dragon fruit", and " orange zest". ((all the colors are Behr paints!))
but i was wondering if any of you could help me pick out some stuff for my room. like a bedspread, sheets, a rug, accessories, pillows, and any other decorative stuff for it! this would be a huge help! and it would be great if you could give me some links for the stuff too...
all answers are appreciated!! thanks a whole bunch!! ♥

Try www.target.com. I would choose bedding color from one of the dots, any color dot would do. Probably solid comforter, sheets, pillow cases and throw on some differently shaped throw pillow with the colors of the polka dots, even if they're floral throws. You can find some bright colored rugs at target also and can be a different color than comforter. They have some neat stuff for teens called "shabby chic" (sheik). You could get a lamp with a striped lamp shade with one or two of the colors in the stripes with white in between. You can also use a striped comforter and bedding. Use your imagination and I'll bet once you get started everything will begin coming together. But be sure you get paint chips of the polka dots so that you can match the bedding, rugs, etc. as close as possible to the real color. You wouldn't want a lime green polka dot on the wall with a drab olive green comforter. And be sure to put your favorite things on your dresser or chest of drawers. In fact, try lightly sanding a nightstand or other piece of furniture and paint it with one of your polka dot colors. You can cover with a coat of polyurethane for durability. Hope it works.

I just did my daughters room in polka dots. A fun thing you should try instead of painting them on are Wallies. You can find them at Lowes. They are removable designs. They come in polka dots & other shapes. She likes them because she can move them around. As far as the rest of your room goes, I think if you pick one of the colors out of the ones you want to do the polka dots with and find a bedspread in that color. Then choose pillows in the other colors. You will want to keep your furniture white or a nuetral color and bring in the colors in the fabrics.

OKAY YOU WANT POLKA DOTS THEN PICK THE WALL WERE YOUR BED WILL BE GOING. IN THAT WALL ONLY DO YOUR POLKA DOTS AS YOUR FOCAL WALL. THEN PICK 2 OF THE COLORS OF YOUR POLKA DOTS AND ACCESSORIZE ONLY WITH THOSE 2 COLORS AND GO WITH THE SOLID BEDSPREAD, CURTAINS, AND RUG. BUY ROUND PILLOWS TO CONTINUE YOUR POLKA DOT THEME. BUY A ROUND MIRROR AND JUST A FEW ACCESSORIES THAT ARE ROUND. JUST DON'T OVER DO IT. LESS IS MORE! THEN LATER YOU CAN USE THE COLORS THAT YOU DIDN'T USE TO CHANGE THE VIBE OF YOUR ROOM.

1] first, pick the bedding/curtains. then match paint to them - it is much more difficult to match bedding after the paint.
2] paint the walls the color you like most in the bedding print.
a] or, paint each wall a different color in the bedding print
You will get sick of polka dots, and they are on their way out.
3] get a rug in one of the dark or bright shades.
4] get pillows to match the bedding, or pillows in the colors of the bedding
5] add a reading chair, lamps, vase or flowerpots, candles and holders in the two or three colors you like best.

I would suggest not doing the polka dot thing...you'll want something that will still appeal to you when your 17,18. Keep the funky colours but paint each one of your walls a different one and paint the trim white. I too redecorated my bedroom when i was 15 but by 17 i hated it
