Canada's main sport is hockey.
Although English and French are both the official languages of Canada, English is the one that is spoken over the greatest area. French is spoken primarily in Quebec and the areas of Ontario and New Brunswick that border it. Inuit is spoken in the Arctic.
The capital is Ottawa. It is in eastern Ontario across the Ottawa River from Gatinueau, Quebec.
Canada does not have states, it has 10 provinces and 3 territories. From west to east, the provinces are British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and the easternmost province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The territories are in the northern part of the country and from west to east are, Yukon Territory, Northwest Territory, and Nunavut.
The population is about 1/10 of the US, approximately 30 million people. Over 80% live within 100 kilometers from the US border.
The earliest settlers were French and spoke French. The next batch of settlers were English and spoke English.

First people to come to Canada were Vikings, they had a settlement here, so the first language spoken in Canada was Norwegian. There is irreputable evidence found lately that Europeans were in Canada before the indians were who migrated here over the land bridge AFTER the ice age.
These Europeans arrived in NA during the ice age. So they arrived long before the indians did. They were somewhere in what is now the US. The documentary was on the knowledge network and the history channel a few weeks ago showing the archeological discoveries
