If god designed the natural world, then god is the organizer of the largest and longest lasting animal fighting arena of all time. Isn't that even worse than what the scumbag Michael Vick did?

That's true.
Interesting way of looking at it.

Feeling marooned are we !! As well one would, IF the only way to explain suffering is to: point a finger at God and blame Him.

There IS a war going on, it is between good and evil; God did not know the outcome with Job, and He lived in high suspense with whether Jesus would go through with the torture and ignominious death meted out to Him. But, ONCE Jesus went through the valley and into death; and, more importantly, came out the other side of it - with the keys of hades and death in His hands - NOW, God knows the outcome !!!!

For each woman and man, the stakes remain very high. Believe in God and His plan of salvation or reject it - Free will 101 - the 'yes' mean nothing if 'no' is not a real option.

Shame on the vick character, he is one step away from the dam romans...throwing people into the arena to be killed, either by exotic animals or trained killers. I see one bored man, when I look at vick; who got his jollies watching as two animals destroyed each other. How pathetic. And, yet, our society 'the culture of death' made him !! He merely had the money and means to act out the death of those animals; for his 'blood sport'...yuck

On the surface, this world is a crime; ergo, God had to send Jesus to rectify the injustices; and He did it !!!

So, rail against the dark night or find a way to make suffering meaningful. We're full circle of Free Will 101

You're pretty arrogant and brave to refer to God as worse than a scumbag. God gave man free will. Man is the guilty party not God. He didn't create evil or evil men. Men in their own arrogance chose to be evil. God created paradise and humanity destroyed it. Go ahead, you can call God, The Creator, the one who allows you to still be breathing after such a evil comment, any name you want. The only reason people like yourself make ignorant and arrogant comments like that is because deep in side you are vulnerable and weak and are truly afraid that maybe you are wrong. It's a battle within you that you haven't come to terms with. When you face your Creator you will know what I mean, but by then it will be too late for you. Today is the day of salvation. Choose life. Not death. Satan, who I'm sure you don't believe in, has tricked you. Only one thing can set you free. I think you know what it is.

No. He gave all animals different defense mechanisms so they are capable of fending for themselves. And in the natural world, animals kill for survival - rarely just for fun. Man is supposed to be more civilized. What Michael Vick did was cruel and heartless. It was not done for survival. It was done because he took pleasure out of torturing animals that were raised to trust their owners. Sick! And my hope is that he never plays football in the NFL again.

Well, at least god had reasons for the fights. Survival of the fittest (for good breeding stock), Chow (canines eat rabbits preventing over population). I'm sure you get the idea. I don't believe in god, but if I did, that is how I would think.

Perhaps you should perceive the scumbag Michael Vick (I agree with you) as the microcosm, and the rest of the natural world as the macrocosm.

There are a lot of Michael Vicks in this world -- some who have done horrors way beyond the one he did. It does make it difficult to believe in an all loving supreme energy. I work on this daily, because I believe in the Oneness of Us All. When I think about that, I have to think that Vick is part of that Oneness. I must remind myself that he is the yang to the yin I seek, and I must focus on the yin so that my definition of this Universe does not become undone.

God organized the natural world in which lions lay down with lambs. WE messed that up, so that makes US guilty.

1) You assume that the world continues under God's original design, rather than be drastically altered by mankind's fall.
2) The purposes are entirely different, namely survival (food) vs. "entertainment".

Now, fighting is part of the animal world, for you must survive. You can't blame Adam and Eve for making animals violent, for of course they were responsible for original human sin. So how did the animals get so violent? God obviously did it.

I don't know. If there is a God, do you really think a human would ever comprehend him, his actions and his reasons?
