I have recently lost over 100 pounds on my own and have successively kept it off for over 2 1/2 years. I have been working on firming up my troublesome areas - inside, upper legs-by walking on a steep incline on a treadmill, 3 to 4 miles a day. Although I currently weight about 3 pounds over my target weight, when I tried on my jeans from last year, they all seem very tight in my upper thighs. Are there different exercises I should possibly try doing or has anyone experienced this? I really do not want to buy more clothes and I do not want to run around looking like an 18 year old - no offense - when I am a 30 something mother of 2. Any suggestions would be most helpful!!

Muscle more dense than fat (thanx to the person below for reminding me). Your mistake here is that you tried to "spot lose" fat by working the problem areas and have actually not lost the fat but enlarged the muscle under the fat. As a result you're actually bigger in your problem areas. Trying to target problem areas is a myth. Maybe your post will help bring the point home once and for all. Good for you and congrats on the awesome weight loss. You might want to share your methods with others here. just keep going on your eating plan and check your calorie count to make sure you haven't started inadvertently increasing your intake as you near your weight goal. The body fat % is still too high here. Good luck and congrats again on the hard work !

Yes, muscle is heavier than fat. Sometimes people lose weight too quickly and discover they've lost a lot of muscle instead of fat but if you exercise regularly I don't think that's your problem. If you want to target only certain body parts there are many exercises to help with this so just search the web and look for "hip and thigh" exercises. Good luck!

yes maybe ease off exercises that work the thigh muscles. or don't put an incline on the treadmill.
