I'm athiest but wonder what the point of this heaven is. If everything is 'pure and good' then it must be a pretty boring place to be whilst stuck in it for eternity. Do you take with you the same prejudices, dislikes and annoynaces? If so it's a lot like being here and therefore it must all be a pretty messy place in the end. If not, hows that possible? If you have loved more than one person because of bereavement, who do you go to in heaven? Why should a non believer not be allowed in according to the 'bible'? This heaven concept raises bigger questions and issues than it answers I think. Seems to be a tool to manipulate the vulnerable?

Do all religious people make answers up to fit questions that are clearly unanswerable? If science only applied evidence to support a theory, much the same way as religion only listens to ideas that support its concept we would still think the world was flat.

I really wouldn't be all that bothered about the beliefs of religious people if it didn't have so much power and influence over politics and education. Its very scary really!

It was just the way that the church tried to bribe the uneducated peasants back in the middle ages.

If you behaved yourself and did what the church and state told you then you would go to heaven.

However, if you were difficult and tried to raise yourself above your station then you would be condemned to eternal fires.

Basically, heaven and hell were used to control people.

Heaven is suppose to be a place unlike this hell hole called earth with too much crime and people who think they re appointed to tell you what to do and make you pay most of your wages in tax. where u already died and have got no more worries about dying. Where clarity strikes and you see things clearly without judging, no pain cos your a spirit. A place where you are happier than you were on earth, no aging , no heartbreak, no sorrows. Otherwise another explaination is that heaven is the christian belief of an everlasting life in a blessed land unlike any other upon earth. A place where the angels dwell and life is encumbered. (whatever that means) Does this answer help????Anyway I believe in it an it promises me of a better life once i get thru this one. If there is no heaven at least i ve had something that had made my life worthwhile and hopeful.

It is the concept of heaven that turns people off. Answer this......Does learning new things bore you? If so, you will be bored in heaven. Think outside of the box and what other people "tell" you what heaven is. Imagine the sky is the limit for exploration of things you cannot imagine. All good things.

Have you ever thought to yourself "this is heavenly" or something like that. Heaven is here, now, look at all the fantastic things around you. When you think of someone you love, how can Heaven not be in your heart in that moment. It's in those moments that you realise Heaven exists here on earth.

heaven is a place you get to on earth, as is hell, neither exist elsewhere and you would never know anyhow. It is nice to think there is everlasting life but all that really is is leave a big footprint and you will be well and fondly remembered. I thouroughly believe in God the creator and the notion that you hand your life to him and you are answered but that is as far as my beliefs go

It sure better than the alternative. For one thing we will eat. I think we will go exploring other planets, and such. People aren't married in Heaven, so spouses don't matter. We will have mansions and I believe tasks (work).

I don't believe it would be worth going to heaven just to bang 72 virgins. . . Hmm, perhaps it would be simply divine to just hang out and talk about Streisand, Merman and Minnelli for eternity.

Actually, we will not be in heaven for eternity. Heaven is place for us to temporarily stay while God creates our permanent home. Maybe another earth... well, only God knows.

Heaven is knowing and living the truth. It is here and now... Otherwise how can it possibly be eternal.

Conversely, hell is here and now also, and is living an illusion.
