I have a HDTV that holds up to 1080i resolution. Is that better or worse than 1080p? and I also own a ps3 and was wondering if I should get an HDMI cable to watch my blu-ray and DVD movies? would it make any difference since it is not 1080p? and do you think I should still get it?

1080I is interlaced skipping every other line. 1080p doesnt skip so there for is better picture. But unless you have a upconverting DVD player to 1080p a blue ray dvd player or HD player you wont need 1080p.

1080p is the better of the two, but i'm not sure how big a difference /(i gather the bigger the screen the more it matters.)
To the chap above, Ridge racer7, Ninja Gaiden sigma and Virtua fighter, as well as some downloadable games, can all run in 1080p.
