....I cant believe is some being in the form of man, sitting on a throne in a place called heaven and probably never can or will. I believe god is a pure, benevolent force that we must believe in before you can believe in yourself , and that we should never put all our faith in another person because we are all at fault (sinners), in at least one way or another/ I believe in Jesus and that he was working through god but am not 100 percent sure about all his miracles and find evangelists have a smug aura about them. does anyone know of a good website where i can get sound spiritual guidance that is not fanatical and over the top? thanks in advance!

We are born with "spirit" and religions do so much damage that we can't quite understand the "power" we feel when we leave religions... The purpose of our spirit is to unite us with nature...
the rise of the catholic and christians to power was so thorought that it destroyed almost all evidence of natural civilization... so when we heal spiritually we are left with no other explanation that what the church gives us.. namely "god"... nature is the power that is greater than us, nature makes us feel spiritual, gives us a feeling of conscience ... nature is also the power behind evolution... the christians keep saying give me more proof more proof of evolution when the world changes around us... new plant life and wild life present itself to us every day... if we keep listening only to the "christian/catholic version of life we will never understand the truth...

I'm a lot like you. I actually had an out and out spiritual experience an unmistakable answer from God. I'm not a Christian and never have been. The experience I had was, however connected to visiting a cathedral and it made me sit up and really think about God, religion etc. Took a long time to figure it out but there are things in Christianity that I simply can't believe. God exists, Jesus did, the miracles I'm fine with, but son of God, no, the only way to God no defiantly not. As a tradition Christianity has consistently disregarded and disrespected those of other beliefs. I don't like evangelism, it's mass appeal looks like a show promoting the feel good factor and I think there's an aliment of hysteria involved. I'm still searching to connect with what I experienced or at least come to terms with, it's been 25 years. I don't reject Christ or God, just some of what the church apparently teaches people.

Ok, Jesus dosen't work through God, He works through Jesus. You have to remember the Trinity and God is at the top of the ladder of the Trinity. He is everything He says He is and it's ok to want to ask questions but as hard as it seems please don't doubt Him because doubting Him is calling Him a lyier. I like to go to wayfm.com. It's a radio station here in Tn you can try to find it and there is music that might help ease your mind and I can recommend some musicians if you like :)

God is everywhere not just in heaven or on a throne. THe bilbe does say to put your trust in God not all your trust in another person as they are human and will let you down.
I have seen God's miracles. THe thing is you have to truly believe that God help you and trust in His way to help you even though it may not be the way you want. He knows what is best for us.
I personally like Joyce Meyer. www.joycemeyer.org and joel osteen
They relate to everyday problems and being sinners. Hope this helps.

Its a little more archaic than a web page, but I would recommend the Bible. Each time, before you read, pray that God will guide your understanding. God bless you in your search. I will pray for you as soon as I post this answer.

Religion is but a cheap man-made device. Hold faith that something marvellous created the world and everything in it. Let the evangelists drive each other nuts with their inane doctrines.

Go to no worldly teacher. Read the Bible yourself and with an open mind, without preconceptions. You will find the truth within it and within yourself.
