I would stay away from any Brooks college or any for-profit schools (such as the Ai Art Institute chain schools).

The San Francisco Art Institute (which is NOT a part of Ai) is a small non-profit school with a great photo department. Actually, their photo department was founded by Ansel Adams. Visit www.sfai.edu.

The California College of the Arts is similar to SFAI, except it's in Oakland. Visit www.cca.edu.

Maryland Institute College of Art should also be considered. You can find them at www.mica.edu.

Hope this helps!

Check the New York Institute of Photography. They have been around a long time and offer correspondence courses.
