One of my favorite parables showing us how to love God is the parable of sheep and the goats in Matthew 25. In todays terms, what God is saying is it’s not enough for you to just call and email me. God wants us to visit him, offer him food, clothes, medicine, etc. Since we can’t visit God directly ( he wants us to visit and do these things with our fellow man. Honestly, how many friends or family did you know in the hospital this year, or last year. How many did you visit and try to bring comfort. Did any of your friends (at work or school) forget their lunch and you bought it for them without expecting payback? Have any of your friends or family just needed a place to crash in a time of trouble? Did you offer your house? Of all these things I’m sure at least one of them occurred either directly in your family, or to asomeone you are close with. And this is how we are to practice our faith.

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

1Now the tax collectors and "sinners" were all gathering around to hear him. 2But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law muttered, "This man welcomes sinners and eats with them."

3Then Jesus told them this parable: 4"Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

The Parable of the Lost Coin

8"Or suppose a woman has ten silver coins[a] and loses one. Does she not light a lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it? 9And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together and says, 'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost coin.' 10In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

To me these two parables mean, the moment I was saved
heaven was rejoicing over ME.

The unwise builder in luke 14:28-30; it reminds me of how disingenuous some christians can be in speaking of the "free gift of salvation".

I like the prodigal son. It reminds me of how far down a person can go once they start submitting to sin. Like myself, so far I become like a dog. Sin starts as something that is appealing to the eye and before you know it, you look and smell like a pig. It also reminds me of Gods love and His open arms to anyone at anytime that wants to come back to Him. He is waiting and watching anxiously for our return so that He can make us his sons/daughters.

Adam and Eve. We grow up, leave our Father's house, and fend for ourselves, always knowing that our Father is there for help and guidance whenever we need Him.
