My personal credit history is horrible (too many credit cards in my early teens lol - NOTHING since 2004) - The company in question is incorporated in California.

You should be able to use personal credit history to get a business credit card from the same credit card company.

I assume that because u use your EIN that you have an acct to pay taxes to the bank every quarter. Cash flow is important and recievables too, not to mention the employees. This doesn't sound like personal credit, it's for the business. You should be incorporated and have a history there. Ask American Express

If you have an established business, business credit cards are very easy to get. Small businesses or fresh startups need not worry here, because credit card companies are equally eager to give business credit cards to companies with good prospects and to those who show promise. So, even if you are just starting, you can get a business credit card. Apply online for a best business credit card at: http://www.credit-card-gallery.com/Business_Card.html

Before applying for a small business credit card that fulfills your needs, shop around. Search online or contact the different card companies to find out the fees and the interest rates. Select the one, which has the lowest fees as well as interest rates. Just like a credit card for personal use, be smart with using your small business credit card. If not used judiciously, it can land you in debt problem.

My suggestion is that you start with a Staples credit card....
and then open another type of credit card.

Or, start with a collateralized Visa credit card in your name for your business.

Sure it's good to have an American Express card but you "must" pay the full balance off every month...and sometimes that's tough to do.

Really? You might have to start out with a secured card. But, then again you would not have needed to get an EIN.
