Don't you care about the comfort of anyone else but yourself??
(for those who say " i'll turn it down if someone complains',..it should'nt have to be told to you.

YOU KNOW when LOUD is TOO LOUD!) You can also be fined (didn't know that, did you?!)

I am 55 and when I was a teen driver I use to blast the music also. I feel so sorry for my mom now because everytime she turned on the car, the music would blast and scare her. Maybe this is a generatiional thing.

Some young people are just very self-absorbed and don't give a damn about others.
Blasting music in the car I think is a different matter as you are moving/cruising along. Its better than having it next door or down the road. It also depends how high their bass has been turned up as the vibrations can be really irritating.
My husband and I have our music on pretty loud in the car but for us its just a form of relaxation and enjoyment. Music makes us feel good. We don't have it loud in our own home as we respect our neighbours.

I'm 22 and I don't blast music loud. I have very sensitive hearing and am usually the one asking that the music be turned down. We have one comfort, however; we will still have our hearing when other people are deaf.

Edit: I didn't even play music very loud when I was a teenager.

I'm young. I don't blast music, ever. I hate when music is even loud enough to disrupt conversation, it bugs the crap out of me. I think other people do it because they think you're a wuss if you can't put up with loud music, and I guess they figure it makes them really big and intimidating if they show no consideration for anyone besides themselves. Whatever. I don't make the rules, all I can do is break them.

I've seen "young people" blast their music and I've seen "old people" blast theirs just the same. I do it myself from time to time ( I don't have the bass turned up)d I'm not doing it to look cool, because I think I have to express myself, or show off my sound system. Rest assured I'm not an idiot. I do it because I enjoy what I'm listening just THAT much.
Goldenrain's theory is fitting. I can hear and FEEL it and YEAH, I want the whole mutha_u(kin'world to hear it and revel in it with me.
Don't worry about the ticket they may or may not get, the damage to their ears or their stereo system. They, I, we don't.

I'm in my 40s & STILLdo it. IT'S fun, it's freeing & takes my mind off other things, makes the drive go faster, I can't play it that loud at home for fear of disturbing the neighbors (very quiet neighborhood)....and rarely get out to clubs where it's nice & loud.

??? Just depends on your tolerance level I guess. What I hate is when the teens have the bass so loud it's vibrating the speaker covers & sounds really ratty. Don't know how they can stand that static-y vibration!

Because they are inconsiderate jerks who thinka blasting music makes them cool, and a way to get the chicks. Also, they must like the song so much that they want the world to hear it. Your right..... LOUD is to LOUD. You can get fined for it, brake your sterio system, and hurt your hearing. Is it really worth it? NO!!!!

Hope this helps!!!:)

For some reason it's COOL. I find it very it very annoying myself. My stupid neighbors kid comes to visit every summer and plays the dame thing every night when he comes home at 3am. the guys across the street from him stood outside one night to wait for him to come home... as the kid turn the corner on his way down our street the man nailed his windshield with a 1/2 dozen eggs. we never hear that punk kid again.... Hey, I don't think it was right, but it sure was funny! I truly am over peoples crap, and if that's what it takes so be it.

It's a form of expression. At that age it is important to them for others to see who they by the type of music they choose to listen to and which lyrics they relate to. Poor things, when they are in their sixties, they will still be expressing it with their hearing aids.

I know I hate that too. especially those with the loud bass. it sounds ugly as hell. if they really want those vibrations then they can get one of those massage chair things and apply them to their seats. but the people who do what you just described are GHETTO!
