If you don't want to call us evil, fine; we are ignorant and we are constantly sinning and screwing things up.

Lol. Of course you are not totally responsible for what your kids do. But then, did you actually create your child? Of course not! You can only control the nurture side of the equation. But the fact is that God created both nature and nurture for us. In other words, he created our personalities and he created the world around us. So yes, it is his fault.

"Image" does not mean the "real" thing, does it? Let's just say we each have the potential of getting polished like a gem.

And our similarity with God is found in our spirit.

Peace be with you.

True the Bible account in Genesis says that we were created in God's image. All land animals and flying creatures were created first and in contrast to them WE were created in God's image. We can appreciate, understand, and live by God's moral standards while animals do not have this capability.

The problem is most of us choose not to live by these standards. 1 John 5:19,"whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one". Satan has plenty of influence in this world and blinds people to the truth found in the Bible.

You forget: God is perfect. When man was created in God's image, mankind was perfect also. But since the fall into sin, we have become imperfect and sinful now. That is why only through Jesus can we be saved.

Our sinful nature is not our true nature. Our spirits only want to do good but when we come to live in these bodies then we take on a bad nature. We are only this way because of Adam and Eve.

It doesn't make God anything - God is - His being is not defined by his rebellious creation. We are the ones who sin and fall short of the ideal of perfection. We are the ones who mess things up over and over again and do not learn from our mistakes. God is the one who, in spite of all of our faults, loves us, nurtures us, gives of Himself to us.

If you have a child, and you train him/her to be a moral, upstanding, ethical person, and they then choose another course, is that your fault? Of course not! It's their choice. Same thing.

Speak for yourself, dear one. I have been sanctified by Christ and am one of God's saints.
