He sounds like he is sensitive to you touching his ears, Maybe he gets startled, maybe he can't hear or he could have an ear infection and it hurts. Some cats don't like to be touched at all, but I would rule out any mediacal possibilities by bringing him to a vet to check out his ears. Good luck

I have five cats right now and have had many over the years.

Cats usually pin back their ears when they are frightened or angry. But they also have other body language indicators to tell you if it is anger or fright (cowering, hissing, growling; pupils of the eyes are enlarged; tail is swishing back and forth rapidly)

If you cat is otherwise calm and relaxed, then your kitty simply doesn't like his ears being touched. However, as a responsible pet owner, you need to be able to inspect his body for injuries and illness. So, when you are petting your kitty and he is relaxed, make touching his ears (eyes, belly, paws and lifting his lips to see his teeth) part of the petting. He won't like it at first but he will get used to it and it will make his vet visits less traumatic

Good luck.

I have a cat who needs his left ear cleaned out about once a month. He will pin his ear back as he does not want me to do it.

Otherwise with most of my cats I do T-touch massaging of their ears and they love it!

Well, they may not like the way you're touching their ears, or they don't want to be touched at all at that moment. Sometimes it's just a reflex because they have very sensitive ears.

When a cat put their ears back like that then they are mad.

It is probably just a reflex, like when someone touches you somewhere it makes your skin tingle. You know what I mean....they have sensetive spots too

I don't mean anything sexual...I mean like goosebumps
