Purring can mean many things. But the most common by far is contentment. So if she's a very affectionate cat, she's probably happy to just have someone around. My cat used to jump up on the couch, sit on the next cushion over and purr. She was just content to be near by.

She is just happy that you are around.
We took my cat to my sister in laws one time and she was having fun with the other cats and ok.
When we got home she was so tired and slept. The next morning she knew I was awake and purred and then she walked around the house purring at different things. She was very happy to be home and just happy having just us at home.
You have a cat that loves you and you don't have to pet them to get a purr. She is content with you and very happy!!!
Good Job!

That's a good thing. Any time a cat purrs it means they're happy and/or content. So if your cat purrs by just knowing you're around, that's a great thing. It's like a human smiling at you.

Your kitty is simply letting you know she is pleased to have you around her. Purring is a voluntary reflex so she can control the purring.

Purring is also a way cats have to communicate their friendly intentions (that they are not a threat). So they will purr when they are ill but only to those who they know won't hurt them.

If a cat is ill, they "usually" look for a quiet, dark place to hide. However, my cat Buzzy would come looking for me when he was injured but he was a special case.

Good luck!

She loves you! She is happy that you are there with her. If you play with her a lot, she might get tired of you though. lol
