i downloaded divx and then it said i needed to install ac3 .but i dont know what is ac3 .so can anyone tell me about ac3 plz

AC3 is an old name for Dolby Digital.
It is the mandatory audio codec for DVDs

ac3 is a video format so the video you are trying to watch is encoded in you just need to download an .ac3 codec, install it, and it should work fine.
