They're both cute but if you're looking to get one of the two... Almost every dachshund I've ever seen has been mean, so I suppose for a small dog they would almost be good as a guard of some sort. If you have allergies then poodles are definitely the way to go.

Dachshund definately,,Also compared to Poodles they are easier to maintain,,,with those tight curls,,if you happen to get fleas it will be hard to get rid if them. Dachshunds also seem easier to train (tricks commands or anything) Poodles just seem real stubborn. Wayne

I like long haired dachshunds. Can't stand poodles, they yap too much. They hardly even look like dogs sometimes, with the hair cuts their owners give them.

poodles are ok, but I prefer the weiner dogs

I don't particularly care for either. I don't judge dogs on "cute", but on "who they are"...their intelligence, willingness to want to learn, their companionship
