You are not supposed to believe anything that does not seem real to you. Concentrate on what IS real to you. Love, for example. Is it true that God is Love, which is to say that Love is God? Maybe. What about the sun? It is the source of all life, light, energy on the planet, and lots of people over many centuries have considered it a god. Make sense to you?
Perhaps you don't need a god at all. Many people don't. Many more are content to use the terms "god" and "goddess" as metaphors, not to be taken too literally, but useful to describe certain aspects of life.
What makes a god real is finding a definition or description that can attach to something you can believe in. Take the classic "greatest that exists." Maybe that's the Universe, and maybe you don't even think of it as conscious, but if that's the greatest, it does exist, so you can call it God if you want. And maybe the Universe IS conscious.
If you want to leave the question open, just call yourself an agnostic and go on your way.

It is the belief of the believer that makes god real. To those who believe, god is a Truth. Not just a being in the sky who commands them to obey, but a real and tangible expression of their heart's desire to do right and become better people. Some of them have experienced a life changing feeling in themselves, others have been taught to believe since birth. Either way, god is very real, if only for them. If you have not felt such a thing, then god doesn't exist for you, and THAT'S OKAY. You're not supposed to believe in something that isn't real. Reality is a matter of perception, though. They need to allow you to not believe in things that you do not perceive, but you should also allow them to believe in the things that they DO perceive. Then everyone is happy, and that's REALLY what it's all about.
Be well in all things,
Rave

Do you love someone? Do you have a little nephew or neice a baby or a child? Love them with all of your heart. That can be your path. beleive in love. open your heart. That feeling you get that cannot be described with words. Then thats God. Thats where God is. God trancends human thought, it can only be felt. Every attempt to describe what cannot be told must use local cultural references and language. So unless the person your talking to is from your own tribe. Then that person will think your God is a devil .
So just let go and Love someone try and help those who cant help themselves live and let live

God is real because he created everything that is around us and us as well. Do you think that we were just some accident and that the world somehow began to form itself? That by some strange phenomenon the molecules and cells began to form and people just arose from the Abis? first of all if that did happen just like that what made that movement happen? Think about it. what is energy? why do things move things everywhere when people aren't the ones to do it. Now tell me that everything that there is, is just a big fat accident. No one just grows out of nothing because in one way or another it had to get there and and the energy that created it is God!

God is made real by the people that believe in it. Therefore it doesn't have to be something real as you would rationally call something real. But how fictional it may be for any ordinary rational person, this god is as real as it possibly can get for that same rational person when someone kills another in the name of his god.

Just look at life itself, look at the sun and the moon. Look at everything around you, everything is designed for something. Who designed it?
God is real. Why don't you ask Him to reveal Himself to you. And then have faith and trust in Him, in a world like this one you need Him.
Join a church and get with the pastor of that church. Tell him you want to know more about God and His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Real is God. God is the Real. There is nothing that makes Him real. He is real. He is the One in whom we live and move and have our being. Creation testifies of the glory of God. Do you look at the mountain and say, "because I can't see the other side of the mountain, I can't be sure it exists. It could be an illusion."? Wake up from your hypnosis. Humility is the beginning of wisdom.

Look all around you - the world and its beauty. Think of how a baby is created. Those things can't just be coincidental or accidents. There must be a creator somewhere. Think of how the seasons never cease to change and come around again full circle. Think of our world spinnining around in the middle of nothingness. Morning always comes and the sun always goes down. It is all a miracle if you ask me.

Did you know studies show religious people tend to be from the working and lower middle class - as well as uneducated?
Also, of a population of schizophrenics almost 95% of them are "evangelical" Christians. That's the largest group of Christians in any U.S. based demographic.
It's statistics, Google it.
