I am fully aware that our constitution requires a person to be a U.S. born citizen to become president. However, our constitution is admendable. If / when 300,000,000 illegal immigrants and their legal children become voters, doesn't it seem logical that this admendment might be put before congress?

Under the law the right to run for president is limited to those BORN in the United States. No immigrant, legal or illegal should be allowed to run for president without first modifying, and in my opinion dismantling, our constitution.

Dang that pesky little constitution.

Only native-born U.S. citizens (or those born abroad, but only to parents who were both citizens of the U.S.) may be president of the United States, though from time to time that requirement is called into question. The Constitution originally provided a small loophole to this provision: One needn't have been born in the United States but had to be a citizen at the time the Constitution was adopted. But, since that occurred in 1789, that ship has sailed.

One must also be at least 35 years of age to be president. There is no maximum age limit set forth in the Constitution.

Finally, one must live in the United States for at least 14 years to be president, in addition to being a natural-born citizen. The Constitution is vague on this point. For example, it does not make clear whether those 14 years need to be consecutive or what the precise definition of residency is. So far, however, this requirement has not been challenged.

Sure, why not! The current President has a horrible command of the English language, and I think his parents were cousins.
What can be worse than an illiterate inbred Texan? Maybe the US should try a Spanish speaking illegal immigrant as their leader, it just might work! At least he'd be able to pronounce Felipe Calderón, and "Quien tiene buen vecino tiene buen amigo," properly!

It would require a change to the constitution as only native born Americans can become president. No chance of any amendment passing to let that happen

It would require an Amendment to the Constitution. With all the problems facing our nation, I would think this issue a vast waste of our time.

This is one reason why children of illegals should also be forced to go back to where their parents came from - they can be, under law, elected as president.

With a voting base in the future that will be comprised in large by illegals, it is only a matter of time before a child of an illegal comes into office.

No. They aren't going to be given amnesty either. Congress is getting message loud and clear.

No. In fact, that illegal immigrant that is Spanish speaking should be kicked back to the country of origin. No anmesty. What candidate will build the fence and kick out these illegals? They will have my vote and millions of the citizens that agree with me.
