Being known for going door to door is a good thing. We are doing what Jesus commanded to be done at Matt 24:14
"This good news of the kingdom will be preached to the entire inhabited earth, as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come."
If you truly not interested, just let them know to put your name on a "do not call" list. We don't want to waste your time anymore than we want to waste ours.
My experience being a Jehovah's Witnesses as been very good. I was raised as one and have been a baptized member since 1979. Many things told about us on Yahoo are not true or only 1/2 truths. Many people blame religion for something that happened to them, when it was not the religion, but one person who was not following the bible the way they should. That person will be accountable to God for causing someone to stumble. Matt. 18:6 "But anyone who stumbles one of these little ones who put faith in me, it is more beneficial for him to have hung around his neck a millstone such as its turned by an *** and to be sunk in the wide, open sea."

Well, I am a Christian, one of Jehovah's Witnesses. One of my Mom's best studies actually was a I guess you'd say hippie. The first girl who called on her, was shocked when she came to the door naked. The girl asked my Mom to call back as the woman seemed interested. The woman, was probably best described as amoral. When she read in the Bible that something was not how God wanted, she changed. She became a sister, though they lost touch. I have been trying to find her over the net, but not yet, maybe someday.

They follow Christ command to preach about the approach of God's kingdom as outline in people's home bible.
Mat 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mat 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Yes, I have. The encounter was not unpleasant but at the same time was not pleasant either. We had a debate about things that they believe and which, us as Christians do not agree with. Overall, nothing was solved in this debate, but I do not dislike the person that I debated with. She is a very sincere person, although IMHO misguided.

Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Several years ago, a girl by herself came to my door. I told her it was dangerous for her to be going door to door by herself, gave her a glass of lemonade (it was July), and told her to please not do this anymore. I told her she needed to be with someone.
Then I sent her on her way. No religion was discussed.

Yes. Although I am a Christain, I have always listened to what they have to say. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Although I don't agree with them, we share back and forth what our beliefs are, asking each other questions and really enjoying one anothers company.

I used to practice as a Jehovahs witness! It was pretty tough to stick to it I still appreciate and respect their beliefs though! Except for the no blood stuff, I have 4 kids and I would never say no to a blood transfusion that is going to save their lives. I just dont get that part at all x x

I was a Jehovah's witness for over 20 years...I am still having negative effects from the indoctrination and abuse that I suffered as a Witness.
I am now saved bu the Grace of god and the effects of the programming are not as strong as they were when I first left.
I had no relationship with god as a witness. I was too busy trying to do all the "works" required for being a good Witness.
today I worship in truth and great freedom. God is awesome. He has delivered me out of an oppressive cult into his grace.

RIF..points out how you can die for an unchristian rule...so sad...many die due to this false blood doctrine.
