Hmm, interesting question. I never thought about it. Being a person with a LOT of freckles though, I checked over my body and noticed that the places where I have actually cut myself down to the sub-dermal region has just grown back white - no melanin at all.

What would grow back would be scar tissue, so I think that the frecles are gones forever.
The scar will be uglier by far.

well freckles dont "grow" LOL. but anyways, they will reappear because that's just how your skin is
