probably bed bugs. Or maybe spider bites. To get rid of bed bugs youll have to first wash all of your bedding to make sure theyre gone from there before dealing with the mattress.
Getting Rid of Bed Bugs-Once an infestation has occurred, patience and persistence is the key to ridding the area of bed bugs. It isn't enough to clean the mattresses and launder the sheets. Furniture should be overturned and cleaned. Carpeting, wood molding, door jambs, picture frames, and closets should be inspected as well. Bed bugs can hide behind loose wallpaper, in the crevices between carpets and walls, behind outlet covers, and inside light fixtures, smoke detectors, and even clocks. Removable, washable items can be laundered in very hot water. For those areas or items which can not be laundered, smaller items can be wrapped in plastic and set in a hot place or in direct sunlight. The key is to raise the temperature to at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit for several hours to kill the eggs and the bugs. Vacuuming and steam cleaning may also be done, but any bags or canisters should be thrown away or emptied outside of the area immediately to prevent another infestation. The best method of removing bed bugs, however, is through a professionally handled treatment.
...id say hire terminix or some other bug service to come in and find out what it could be specifically.

Are you sleeping in an existing bed? I mean did it come with the apartment or dorm room? It sounds like BED BUGS.
Strip the bed and take some wide tape and stick it down on the bed and see if you can come up with anything that might be biting you. If you find anything you should talk to the landlord or dorm manager about fumigation.

Was the bed already there when you moved in? You usually can't see anything on the bed in open view. Try checking the seems of the mattress where the sides meet the top. It could be mites or bed bugs. Buy a spray for your bed.If this doesn't help, go to the doctor and ask them.

It's likely bed bugs. They are hard to find and get rid of. Get a professional exterminator. He/she will know where to find them. It will require pesticides.
