No enlisted man is to be called "sir". Sergeant E-5 through Master Sergeant are addressed as '"Sergeant". First Sergeants are called "First Sergeant", and Sergeants Major are called "Sergeant Major".
Only officers (ALL officers, commisioned and warrant) are addressed as sir (or ma'am).

A Sergeant would be addressed as Sergeant. The only exception would be if you were in Marine Corps Boot Camp, you would address your Drill Instructor, who could be a Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, or Gunnery Sergeant, as sir.

No you DO NOT call any sergeant "Sir" only officers, but warrant officers are called "Mister". I would call a Sergeant Major "Sergeant Major" until told otherwise.

You address NCO's by their rank and last name in the Marine Corps ("Corporal", "Sergeant", "Sergeant Major", etc.). If you address them as "Sir", they will correct you and explain that they work for a living.
