You weren't being sexist, you were being rude! There's no excuse for rudeness whether you were being paid or not. If you were setting up a PA system in the middle of someones meeting I should think you might have kept your testing noises down or opted to return at another time when noise would not have been an issue. If you couldn't do that then it's your job, favor or not, to fit in with what is going on there and not the other way around.

If you completed the job of setting up the PA system, I would demand my money. You did the job and the hens need to pay you.

If a man doesn't have the right to make nasty remarks to a woman, then a woman has no right to make nasty remarks to a man. Simple as that.

Sexist would be if you'd said that to them and they were carrying on a quiet conversation among themselves.

As for telling them to shut up and stop clacking like hens, the next time these arrogant, poor excuses for women get together and are told to stop clacking like hens (because no doubt, they are) then I hope the next man thinks quickly enough to respond with "If the shoe fits...wear it"

(side note to the poor excuses for women who are going to call me a "sell out" or say that I'm wrong. This is first off, an opinion and it can't be wrong. Second, I'm sorry that I'm not an immature little twit that thinks because of my anatomy I deserve better treatment. Deal with it.)

How do you KNOW you were the sexiest? How many other guys were there to set up the PA system?

I would say by your comment you were being rather rude and disrespectful, which in itself is definetly NOT sexy.

Or did you mean sexist?

by the way........hens CLUCK, they do not CLACK.

Charles dear,,,,,if you set up a PA system the same way you express yourself in spelling.....it's a wonder they didn't throw you out. I think I know WHY you are not compensated for your work.

How would it look to you if you were them. You may have been trying to be funny, you know diffuse the situation with humor. Women are the brunt of a lot of jokes, have been forever. Sometimes guys get into the habit of saying things that make us feel less than without really thinking about it. You made the mistake of doing it in a place they felt they wouldn't have to deal with it for a couple of hours, their womens meeting. Just say you're sorry, you weren't really thinking you were just repeating what you're used to hearing, you meant no disrespect, and from now on you will put more thought into the issue. They will forgive you.

Do you mean being a sexist?? You were just there to set up the PA system, so how much the ladies were talking was none of your business. You sound more like a mcp than sexy. ;)

Well hmmm, it's actually a little funny, but also sexist too depending on how u look at it. It's funny that they went to the extremes of having u escorted out..hehe. Well that sucks for you if you were doing the work for free, I'm just wondering what the women were saying to make u say that to them, you should elaborate.

Is that a summary of what you said? Or the only thing you said? clacking like hens isn't inherently sexist.

You were being sexist if you said something rude to them because they were women and if you wouldn't have said something to a group men if the men were doing the same thing.

Yup. You could have just set up, and not said anything at all. Keep your thoughts to yourself, By the way, not all ladies are clacking hens, some of us, are rather quiet, and shy.

You sure sound like it. If you had been in a room with a bunch of government people discussing ______ Would you have said the same thing? That is bad etiquette at the least. Possible to arrest you on slander, liable, assault?
