If there is what is it, and if not that exact word, I know english doesn't always translate exactly, what are some Latin words or phrases that have the same meaning?

The closest Latin word to our English concept is "obduro, obdurare, obduravi, obduratum." Certainly, there are other Latin words that mean "persevere," but you'll find this one in ancient Roman proverbs and poems.

obduro = I persevere
obdurare = to persevere
obdura! = perservere! (to one person)
obdurate! = persevere! (to more than one person)
