This site rocks for extreme hair and has all the products you need to do it right!
Just remember that once you have dreads, you really do have to shave your head to get them out. I had a high school girl come in while I was in cosmetology school and get dreads and she came back a week later to get them taken out after the instructors had warned her. All that 20 some inches for hair shaved and couldn't even be donated. What a waste!

You dont use it to MAKE the dreads, but if they mature and have little loops sticking through, you use the hook to loop the dread back through it to make the loop less noticable.
