To connect an equalizer properly, the receiver needs to have a signal processor loop, which most don't. You can usually tell by seeing RCA connectors that have jumpers installed. One set is IN and one is OUT. Your EQ would connect to these.

Otherwise, you'd have to take the line out directly from the CD player and connect to the line in of the EQ, then the line out of the EQ would go to an AUX in on the receiver. Only the CD player would benefit from the EQ.

Hi. Does your Receiver have a "Preamp Out Main In" facility so you can use the Receiver as a stand alone Surround Sound Processor Preamplifier if you wanted to?

most instalations are really simple. you forgot to mention if cd player was the stock one. and if the E Q has an amp on it. Are you going to run an amp?
