No, sit ups, crunches etc just build muscle - they dont burn fat so will make your belly look bigger since there is gona be more muscle UNDERneath the layer of fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio 4-6 times a week for average of 45min - cardio burns fat all over your body - we cant spot reduce body fat naturally.
having muscle in general will burn more calories (higher metabolism) and having it on your legs is gona look much better and those muscles are bigger and will burn a lot more than abs possibly could.

if youre trying to flatten your stomach or be a little more cut- run and swim. situps will build the muscle but i dont theyl get rid of the fat & shizzle around it as much.

and as far as i know pilates is just for building muscle and improving flexibility & cardio stuffs.

Pilates is a super way to get lean muscle. You might want to look at the slide show below for some additional easy exercises for the ab area!

No. you should exchange your weight-help plan and do extra aerobic to flatten your "abdomen." by using the way, it is not any longer called "abdomen." it is called "abdominals" or "abs" you should devour extra extra healthy meals and much less energy. No junk meals and soda. devour truly some culmination, vegetables, and drink a lot of water. and you should do a lot of aerobic (jointly with working and bounce roping) to have a flat abs. sit down-united statesalone won't flatten it properly, was hoping I helped.
