Hi my name is Emily, i am 12 i am about 20 to 30 pounds over weight, i really want to loose it but at my age its very hard!! If i did 40 curl ups(like sit ups) everynight and stayed away from eating junk food as a snack..would i lose weight? and about how many weeks/months? and when i say stay away from junk food, i dont mean all the time i mean for snacks, cause sometimes my mom makes junk food for supper and i have to eat it, but she only makes it like 1 time a week anyway.. Thanks if you helped me!

most likely not.
at your age its really easy to lose weight but...not many teenagers have a clue how to.
sit ups, crunches etc will only make your belly look bigger - all they do is build muscle, they dont burn fat - we cant spot reduce body fat.
the only fat burning exercise is cardio and it burns fat all over your body - do it 4-6 times a week for average of 45min and do some light weight training a few days a week
diet is 80% of weight loss so make healthy choices and eat 5-6 small meals a day instead of 3 big ones
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day and at least 8 glasses of water
dont ever starve/deprive your body - all you lose that way is water weight and muscle not fat and slow down your metabolism and then gain back more than lost

Thats really jus gonna tone ur muscles.. If you wanna burn fat you need to do cardio.. Like walking, running, ect for 30mins 3-5 times a week...
