Band is a range of frequencies - for example the vhf amateur radio band is all the frequencies between 144mhz and 148mhz.

Channel has two meanings.

1. a predetermined frequency (e.g. citizen's band channel 9 is 27.065 mhz) usually factory programmed into the radio.

2. in business band radios the term channel is also used to describe a memory location. A two channel radio has two buttons that can be preprogrammed to two different frequencies.
