I don't understand why there are a few people out there in the Christian circle that don't agree and even say that the following up above Teachers, Preachers, and Prophets are heretics.I seen Benny Hinns crusades on TV, I have even been to one when I was a child. I actually felt the Holy Spirit and the Presence of God in these Crusades. I seen Hagins services were people get raptured in the Spirit, Fall under the power, get healed, get saved. These people do not operate under the power of demons, this is not a demonic force. It has to be the Holy Spirit. As Jesus said, "how can Satan cast out Satan, and a house divided against itself cannot stand". If these people were truly false prophets and heretics, than why does the genuine Holy Spirit and the Power of God seem to work through these people and thier ministries. If they were preaching and teaching Doctrines of Devils as "some" people say, than why does God continue to work through them and with them.

Mat. 7:
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

I of myself will not say this represents these men, but I will say these are the words of Jesus Christ.

Remember, the Bible tells us that some people will perform signs and wonders, so that if it were possible, they will deceive even the elect. And the Bible also tells us that some people who say, Christ is here, or there, are speaking falsely, and it says that not everyone who says Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, and so forth. Feeling is not a measure of truth, because our feelings have been corrupted by sin. We can't detect God. We are spiritually blind because of our sin. So if you feel something, you may be merely subjected to manipulation or other such. If you check into the background of people like Hinn and Copeland, you will quickly discover that they are bearing rotten fruit. They are materialistic, and they don't live the life of a servant of God. They also teach false doctrine. And if you check into the background of the so-called healings, you will learn that there is nothing miraculous or mysterious about them, Either they weren't healed at all, or they didn't really have the medical condition claimed. Or it is a temporary thing, but doesn't last. And if someone wants to be "slain in the Spirit", it's easy to give them a little nudge, and they will fall, because they WANT to. They know someone will catch them. I don't have the space to go into an involved explanation, so I am giving you some excellent links below. Please look at them. Just remember that the critical question is whether or not what they are TEACHING is heresy or orthodox. And if you look closely at what they are teaching, you will find it's heresy. Do not assume that just because you see results, it isn't demons. Demons are capable of doing signs and wonders. In fact, I don't put it past a demon to afflict someone with a "disease" so that person can be healed. Unless you have followed up on these people, you have no way of knowing if they were really sick, or whether they stayed healed. I think the place where your analysis is failing is that you assume what you must prove, and that is that it is God Who is doing it and not demons. If the doctrine is false, then God isn't doing it. It's that simple.

Friend I too have been to many TV preachers meetings, In my 37 yrs. as a Christian, I have seen them all, Now you ask how can these people be false, First of all lets see what the bible says, It rains on the just & the unjust, Both Just & Unjust are watered by the Holy Ghost, but one thing the unjust lacks is Truth, I will never deny that people are not getting healed, But it is not because of Benny Hinn but of their faith in God, Now we have to make sure what these Preachers have will lead us into truth, The Holy Ghost will not lead you away from truth, The bible also speaks of the false annointed ones at the end time, & that the 2 spirits will be so close that if it was possiable, it would decieve the very Elect if possiable. Think about it, They preach a healing ministry, but their teachings are contrary to God's Truth, It is that rain that is falling on the just(The Bride) & the (UNJUST) the religious world. So Friend, in my 37 yrs. as a Christian, i have seen them all, but There is one thing they don't have, & that is TRUTH, Because the bible says when the Holy Ghost has come, it will guide us into all Truth, & Not into healings or any other teachings then what the Apostles taught. Read Isa 52:8 They will see eye to eye, Eph 4:111-17 There is a 5 fold minstry that is to make a people perfect, How can they be made perfect with so many ideals of the scriptures are going 1000 ways, When the holy Ghost is come HE WILL GUIDE US INTO ALL TRUTH, That is the deviding point.

So why do you think it is the Sprit of God doing that stuff? Everything in the Bible is contrary to it. You are only going on your own feelings. Where does the Bible ever talk about feeling the Holy Spirit? What does the Holy Spirit feel like? Becuae it feels good it must be of God? Where do you read of being raptured inthe Holy Spirit in the Bible? Where do you read of people falling under the "power" and how do you know that they got saved? Because Haggin says so? We are to walk by faith not by our feelings, and why is it all just a big money making thing? The Bible says that is the "error of Baalim" Where in the Bible did Jesus ever take an offering? Wwhere do you ever read of a healing service in the Church of jesus Christ. If it is of God why don't they follow the Bible?

The Positive Confession Movement" , AKA the "Health & Wealth Doctrine" fostered by modern televangelists is modern-day heresy. Jesus has taught us the the poor would always be among us, and Paul acknowledges his own thorn in the flesh. Was it because of a lack of faith from Paul, or from the poor that they were oppressed financially, or physically? I'd be hard pressed to say that Paul lacked faith!
They openly beg for our money saying God will bless us 10-fold and more. Why then are they not following their own promotions and giving money to their audiences, in order to receive 10-fold support for their ministries.
If you have felt the Holy Spirit at their meetings and Crusades, it is because YOU brought the Holy Spirit with you.

Hello,

I do not think God does work through them. Some preachers back in the 80's had been exposed as frauds, faking things like professional wrestling does. I cannot see joint pain, arthritis or a cancer inside people so nothing is proved about healing in my eyes. Also never ever has one of these ministers got a real quadriplegic or paraplegic like the late Christopher Reeves out of his wheel chair and walking about.
Perhaps get an amputee to grow another limb? They day I see something like that is the day I will reassess my thinking on this matter.

Addendum:

Meanwhile check this site on a program done on Benny Hinn and you will see how the old saying applies: there is a sucker born everyday! Funny, five hours after my posting above, on comes this program; there you go. Maybe the Lord is working through me now to set the truth straight!

I'm a Christian, but, I have to call you on this one. The key word in your post is SEEM (to work). I grew up in the Pentecostal faith (and survived), so I have a lot of experience with meetings like the ones Benny Hinn holds. Firstly, Benny Hinn is one of the biggest crooks in existence. He uses God and the Holy Spirit and prayer, etc just to get to all he really cares about - money. I believe he lives by the mantra that a fool and his money are soon parted.

As far as falling under the power, #1 - if someone slams you on your forehead, you tend to lose your balance. Couple that with being surrounded by this celebrity preacher and 10,000 of his followers who are EXPECTING you to fall (under the power), it's peer pressure at its' finest. Think about it - how would someone be viewed if they DIDN'T fall under the spirit in that situation? Not too favorably.

You're dead on when you wrote that the Holy Spirit seems to work through these people and their ministries. SEEMS to work. I'm not saying all tv evangelists are crooks. I believe Charles Stanley is the real deal, as are Joel Osteen, TD Jakes and a few others. Benny Hinn is a total crook though.

They are false prophets.

I was suckered into some of their teachings. I assumed that since they were on Christian television that they must be Christian. Unfortunately, I was wrong. And I would randomly here them say something that is against scripture. One of them, Creflo Dollar, told people not to confess their sins. Told them that they receive salvation by thanking God for it. From that moment on, I stopped listening to him altogether. And I only listened to him occasionally before that because I have a family member who is a fan of him. After reading Joyce Meyer's book called "Battlefield Of The Mind", I became very angry because this was false teaching that contradicted the word of God. I did a background check on many of these televangelists (when I had internet access) and was appalled by all the false teaching. What made it even worse was that those I knew were true ministers of God were also being accused of being a false teacher or false prophet. What a mockery!

It is as you say a temporary feeling. I have talked to many who experienced what you are saying and went back to their life style unchanged. Some who smoked or were heavy drinkers continued being alcoholics. People who were living with persons they were not married to continued to do so.
The healing were temporary. Also, my main objection is that they collect money under false pretenses. They say they are giving the money to help the poor or a school or starving children in Africa. To build an orphanage. When they are investigated they have done nothing more than get rich themselves. the money stays in their hands and very little good if any is done with the money. To me that is extortion's.
Even if they would be honest and say it is for my ministry and to pay me wages. When they do say that many tell me it is send me money and God will make you rich to. So it is appealing to our greed.
All that aside: Religion should change peoples lives for the better. But most have shown no real changes brought on by their visiting these crusades. It is a in the moment it feels good thing.

This is something you will have to learn for yourself, because I do not for one minute believe you will accept the truth, especially since you yourself have already apparently been told about them.
To find out the truth, if this is what you are really after, go to the scriptures, and DILIGENTLY COMPARE their teachings with that of the Bible's teachings. You WILL NEED to know something about the proper methods of hermeneutics, because those "ministers" are quite clever about how they arrive at their interpretations to reach the understandings that they teach.
People can be fooled. Emotions cannot always be trusted. And, since the Bible declares that in the end times false prophets will rise up, you would do well to really look doctrines over.
Remember always Jude 3.

I have also been to Benny Hinn and was healed. I fall out in the spirit quite often at church too. I also like Copelands and Hagin. You are right. This is the move of the Holy Spirit. People sometimes don't understand that God moves in what they consider peculiar ways. They have not experienced the Holy Spirit in this way so they just assume it is not of God. I realize that some people think these evangelist are way out there, but there messages are powerful. God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise.
