The chevy cavalier makes a good first car.Lots of them around.Two and four door models.Eazy on gas and eazy to fix.Best of luck with your choise.

Try to be open minded about the make and model. Look for the best car with the lowest miles in your price range. Old peoples cars are better maintained than sporty ones and generally less expensive used. Buying a good used car is very tricky--take a lot of time and do a lot of price comparison.

You could try a 2008 Ford Escape. It is an SUV that gets up to 28 mpg and is very safe. It seats up to 5 people comfortably, has plenty of power, has off-road capabilites, and can tow.
