....Dragon Naturally Speaking". Then another one which says "Insert the CD-rom ...".

I haven't used this laptop in a month and it just started doing this. What do I do? BTW, the program works very good.

You apparently had Dragon Naturally Speaking on your laptop. It is set to run when you turn on your computer.

What is it you wish to do? You say the program works very good, so do you want it to run or do you NOT want it to run?

I would suggest turning it off to get rid of the popups then run the program when you desire, just not all the time as it is set currently.

Go to the Start Menu, select Run, type in msconfig, go to the Startup tab on the right, uncheck the box for Dragon and it won't run any more when you startup.

To adjust what programs start up at startup

1. click start
2. run
3. type "msconfig"
4 select the "startup" tab
5. then check or uncheck which programs you want to start as soon as windows starts.

So Dragon Naturally Speaking is a voice recognition program, so you might want that to run at startup. If thats the case, it appears that windows needs the CD-Rom for Dragons Naturally Speaking in order to configure it correctly. So, if you have the CD, just insert it when windows prompts you.

You didnt complete an installl and windows is looking for that installation cd..

Go to START, RUN, CLICK OK type in msconfig, look at the top RIGHT and click on startup, when the screen pops up find the entry pertaining to this dragon program and uncheck it by clicking on the check mark., then click apply and then reboot. when a message comes up after reboot select ignore or dont ask again....

Windows is goofy about not letting go of a cd..
