At first I thought it was mine because it fell right next to me; So i took it then I realized it wasn't mine. Soon I realized it was someone at the laundry who lost it, they were complaining and talking about it in jamaican [ which is basically english sumwhat]. I
feel like I have sinned because I didn't give them the money. So I came upstairs and prayed [I'm muslim] Idk right now I'mm confused this isn't really a question I guess I'm just venting out my feelings; I feel really guilty. But meanwhile ; what should I do? The people at the laundry left; I tried returning it. I just don't feel like holding on to the money anymore like just throwing it out the windo to tke this weight off my shoulders...

well at least you feel guilty. you should have returned it as soon *** you found out who it was for. but that is OK. you sound like a nice person. keep the money and next time it happens make sure you give it right back.

I would post a note at the laundromat stating that you "found" some money there and that you would like to return it to the rightful owner. Do NOT specify the amount. If someone calls and identifies the amount, or if you know who the rightful owner is, calls and you can identify them, then return the money to them. If no one calls within two weeks and appropriately identifies the money then use it appropriately or donate it to an appropriate cause. Whatever you do, you should not feel guilty. I've both "lost" and "found" money in my life. It's not the losing or the finding the money that matters, its how you handle the money in your hands. God will hold you accountable for how you handle money He entrusts to your care.

It's $16 for crying outloud! It's not like you found some small fortune! God isn't going to send you to hell for keeping it. You're intentions were to give it back but that didn't happen. Oh well...so go out and buy that new DVD or CD that you've been wanting. Maybe it was Gods way of giving you a "break".

Wow! If you react this way to just keeping money that isn't yours, I should be FREAKING out over the things I've done.

Well if you cant give it back to the owner... Maybe give it to a homeless person or charity. That might make you feel better?

everybody makes mistakes.. and people learn from there mistakes. don't feel so guilty about what happened. you didn't do it on purpose and since you don't know what to do it give it to charity or your church or something..

Ask around for any one whose lost it. If you get no takers, either keep it, or put it in the church coffer!

I am curious as to why you didn't give back it to her when you realized it was hers...

But it's done now, just try to let it go.....
