I hear it's every 3 months. Is that true? Do part timers get raises too? I'm working part time right now due to college and this month would be the 3rd month I've been working there.

I wasn't very happy with the rate she offered me and she knew how I felt and said that it's not a set rate. I've only been working there for three months, but I've done a tremendous amount of work for the company. Should I expect a little raise soon? This is my first real job so I'm clueless about all of this. Any advice or thoughts?

The first review for a new employee is after 90 days, and at that point your might be eligible for a raise since you are not in training anymore, after that if not being promoted it is usually once a year

I am in a similar situation to you, so I am interested in hearing more answers, but I'll give it a shot.

My guess would be that if you are working part-time you are entitled to a raise of your hourly pay rate ever 6 months or so. Salaried jobs are different, as usually they will give you a raise of a certain percent every year, part of that raise is to offset the cost of living going up due to inflation; the rest is to reward you. So if you are hourly I'd wait 6 months, and if you are salaried which you are probably not, wait 1 full year.

This all changes if you are working through a contract or employment agency on a part-time contractual basis. If that is the case, you probably cannot expect a raise any time soon.

You would normally get a review and raise about every six months in the beginning. Or when you change positions/duties. After you've been with a company for a while it normally goes to once a year.

I would not expect a raise after three months. You just accepted the rate a couple of months ago, you can't expect it to change. Your cost of living does not increase every three months.

The time for pay raises differs with each company. Generally, after you complete a probationary period successfully, you'll be eligible for an increase. Give it a little more time, and if you continue to be a good and productive employee, you'll get that raise. You may have to ask for it, in case your boss forgets. If so, remind her of all the work you've done, and how you've made a difference in the company. Good luck!
