If it is the school's dress code policy, then you need to follow through with it. Whether this is a public or private school, the school has the right to adopt and enforce a dress code. Like someone else stated, dress code uniforms have pros & cons. One positive aspect of uniforms is school pride, uniformity, and creating a positive learning atmosphere without the distraction of an article of clothing. For so many parents who are unable to afford pricey high-end brand name clothing, uniforms are a an answer to keeping their child safe from ridicule in school.
However, as a parent, you are eligible for open enrollment and do not have to send your child to that particular school if you do not agree with the dress code. Open enrollment allows for parents to decide if you want your child to go to a different school within your district. You will most likely need to provide transportation though.
Also, please do not think that the school profits from the t-shirts. The cost of buying & printing t-shirts puts very very little in the school's pocket. Also, the small profit the school may take in form t-shirt sales will go directly to low income families who cannot afford the shirts. These kids would most likely get them for free.

I'm not entirely sure what kind of parent would post information pertaining to their child's school online, but I'll answer your question anyway:
Uniforms are good to balance the "haves" and "have-nots". A child should not go to school and focus on what other people are wearing, or compare themselves to others. If all children are wearing the same clothing then there is less of a chance for there to be lines divided along economical lines.
Poor people will have a better chance at friendships with rich people, etc.
When I was a child I had horribly embarrassing clothing and was picked on a lot. I would have loved to have skipped that whole scene.

My daughter is going into pre-k and though she doesn't have to wear a uniform til kindergarden, I think it is a good idea. FYI, uniforms are cheaper than keeping up with the latest styles.

When I started Kindergarten, I had to wear a uniform. Uniforms I believe, help children instead of thinking about the clothes or the money or the accessories in friends, but think about the friend themselves.

At the school where I teach, preschoolers do not have to wear uniforms. Kindergarten students do have to wear the school uniform. (White polo shirt for all, blue shorts/pants for boys, and blue shorts/pants or plaid skirt for girls.

i think its a good thing, because they will get used to wearing uniforms and in the future when they are teenagers,u wont be hearing all this nagging about them wanting to wear whatever they want at school.

It's stupid, kids should be allowed to wear what they want as long as it follows school guide lines
its extra money going into the schools pockets
