some people just dont want to be bothered by anybody else. they are here to answer questions period, not answer a question and hope to spark an online debate.

I dont allow emails but only because i don't want every Tom, Dick and Harry contacting me. As a previous answer said, i am here to answer questions, not have arguments. And why, when someone gets an answer they don't agree with (i'm talking conflict of opinion, not abuse) do they feel the need to challenge them. Ask a question, get an answer. End of story.

You can challenge me right here by adding a further comment which I can read along with everyone else. Why do you want someone's email address when you can put your challenge on here for everyone to see? What are you ashamed of?
In the meantime my email remains protected from all the fools who would otherwise bombard me with exerable garbage about god and my prospects of enjoying a (non-existent) afterlife.

You never know, they may have allowed email at the beginning and then had bad experiences. I've had people send me sincere follow-up (even if it is passionate) but I've also had people send me really obscene and/or hateful email. I just delete those messages, but it's always disturbing to read them and I could understand someone deciding to not accept email for that reason.

I have always believed in the expression " Put your money where your mouth is", so I do allow e-mails, but the e-mail address that I use, I only use for Y A Hoo, nothing else...... and of course, we all know how to use the delete button, when necessary.

You should be able to challenge effectively within the question without having to resort to e-mail.

If you wish to challenge other Answerers, you're free to challenge them in your own answer or in the comment section after the Question is closed. What's wrong with that?
OK, "Captain Bunkum", I'm taking you up on your statement and challenging you out in the open, unlike some who have sent me hateful and hate-filled e-mails in private when they disagreed with me! I'd rather live my life believing in God and my Savior, Jesus, and trying to let the Holy Spirit guide my life and find out I'm wrong when I die; than to live my life to please myself, and disregard my Creator God and Jesus' sacrifice for me on the Cross, and *then* find out I'm wrong when I die and it's too late to do anything about it!

Malcolm it's because there are rude and nasty people who when they don't agree with you can be really horrible. It's horrible when people are rude to you for stating what you believe. I get told off on here and I'm always lovely. Errrrrrrm mostly, as long as it has nothing to do with my appearance or my smell.
