they do not allow blood transfusions, even if the person is dying.
they also believe in shunning within the family. If one baptized member of the family decides being a JW isn't for him or her any longer, the rest of the family is supposed to not speak or eat with them.
I'd say for the sake of your health and family, no, it's not "safe" to join the Jehovah's Witnesses, since you asked.

Baptizing in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit proves of the trinity? Not at all. They symbolize different things, and not the Trinity.
To see if the which doctrines are true, you have to look at the Bible.
Churches Teach that the Soul is immortal.
Bible says The Soul die, which means is not immortal.
Churches Teach the Father Son and Holy Spirit are all one God.
The Bible says theres only one God the Father, and that he is the only True God
Churches teach all goto Heaven.
The Bible says only a "few" are chosen.
If you want scriptures ill be more happy to show you, and how teaches such as the trinity, hell fire ect aren't Bibical.

Not only is it not safe for your temporal well-being (ie. the no blood transfusion rule and higher incidents of serious mental health issues among the JW population), but it is definitely not conducive to your eternal salvation.
No matter which church you decide to attach yourself to, there are a few rules of thumb:
1. It doesn't matter whether a religion has some doctrines correct or none at all. The foundation for a Christian MUST be the Christ of the Bible. On this foundation everything either stands or falls. The Apostle Paul warned to beware of other groups that would come preaching "another Christ" and thus, "another Gospel" other than what the Apostles preached. If you think about it: there is not ONE references by Paul, Peter, James, John, or any other apostle that indicates that the Jesus they preached was Michael the arch-angel--NOT ONE!!! Yet, this is what the WT would have you believe is the identity of Jesus Christ.
2. The WT does not subscribe to the Biblical concept of assurance of salvation--which Scripture plainly teaches. As a JW, you are taught that you MIGHT earn salvation if you do enough works and IF Jehovah finds you worthy. This is not at all the Gospel that the apostles preached. Check these Scriptures, for starters: Rom. 10:9; John 5: 24; 1 John 5: 13; John 17:12. And meditate on what John 3:16 means in light of what these verses say to you. True Christians do have assurance of salvation--not because we jump thru the hoops of a man-made organization that touts "works" as its saving grace, but because Scripture is clear that we are saved by Grace thru faith in Jesus Christ.
The WT has always been a false prophet, preaching another Jesus and another Gospel.
3. The WT is denying its adherents life! When you are not allowed to partake of the emblems at the Memorial Supper, Jesus says you have no life in you if you do not partake in His body and His blood. (John 6: 51-54). Think about what the implications are, then, for the eternal salvation of those who are not allowed to partake because the org. says you cannot. They are forcing you to violate a direct command of Jesus Christ. This is serious business with eternal consequences. Don't take it lightly.

That is a valid question. Especially today, with so many different religions.
A major difference between Jehovah's Witnesses and many other religions is that you cannot just 'join' the Witnesses. That is, becoming one simply by saying it or walking into their meeting and be 'saved' somehow.
Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the entire bible is the inspired word of God, the hold the bible as the standard for all their beliefs. (2 Tim 3:16,17)
So, one has to study the bible and make a informed, personal decision to want to become a Christian Witness to Jehovah. (Matt 28:19,20;Isa 43:10)
Jesus said in John 17:3 that we should learn about him and his Father. Some say only one of the two is important or good enough.
Jehovahs Witnesses honor this teaching, that we must learn about both, Father and Son, to receive approval.
The Witnesses don't hide what they teach nor do they isolate themselves. They publicly both preach and hold their meetings as well as live and work in the midst of other people.
Therefore they are not, as many say, a cult.
If someone wanted to know about you, what would you prefer ? That they went to someone who doesn't like you or don't really know you ?
So, rather than take advice from many who dislike the Witnesses or who have a misinformed view of them, why not study the bible for yourself with the Witnesses and as a result you will be in a much better position to make a fair decision for yourself ?
I think you'll get a lot out of it. Take care ! :o)

No. Because they make it a sin to Honor Jesus Christ as Lord & Son of the Living God. Saying that He isn't part of the trinity. And to believe in the trinity is a sin.
Jesus told us to make disciples (students) of the Gospel in all nations. To baptize in the Name of the Father, the Son & The Holy Ghost. So? This is the Trinity. Jesus Christ is Lord. Who soever calls on the Name of the Lord shall be saved. One would be afraid they might make Jesus God if they call out to Jesus in time of trouble. Since they think this is such a sin.
So? It isn't safe for you to join Jehova Witnesses.

If you're looking for eternal security as your "safety" then I don't believe Jehovah's Witness theology holds that security. Theirs is an Arian belief system that was held as anathema from the Council of Nicea that defined the Trinity and Jesus as God the Son, as scriptural truth. The JWs will claim lineage going back to before this was defined, but they call this "purity" when it was what the Council battled as a falsehood that had crept in.
So you have two lines of thought as to what is a saving faith. The JWs and mainstream Christianity will never agree on this, Nicene and anti-Nicene beliefs, with no possibility of resolution. This ends up as hostility sometimes.
JWs will point to the Bible but in my opinion they introduce mistranslations that confuse those who have never had any advanced education in the Bible and Greek/Hebrew culture and writings. They use logical fallacies in their arguments, again, hard to spot sometimes, and refer to passages as "hard evidence" when the context shows otherwise.
I don't think they have or encourage seminary attendance. However, if you attend their intensive training, you'll come away with theological "proofs" that the average Christian won't be able to refute, which will end up with doors slammed in your face because you will confuse them. Some of the educated may very well be able to refute you, but to you they will just be "closed minded" and "of the devil." You'll be encouraged to shake the dust from your shoes because of this.
The real problem is going to be with any children you might have. Since the world is of the devil, keeping kids isolated is a common JW practice, i.e. can't celebrate birthdays or holidays with their friends. Are you willing to affect them in that way?
If you're determined to become a JW, at least go in with both eyes open. It's an admirable thing to have an open mind. It's foolishness to just let anyone fill it with their own garbage. I'm not insulting them or you, just asking you to be reasonable. I draw the line with any belief system at how I'm supposed to treat my family if they don't believe what I believe.

No. There are a number of reasons. The first is this is a cult. Joining it may lead to eternal separation from God and His kingdom. The second is that this group is not known for telling its members the truth.

Yes but why do you want to if you are asking that question. Surely you know what they are about before you think about joining.

Only if you want to be sexually abused and eternally damned.
**
JR, you need to read Rev. 21:8 and 1 Cor. 6:9-10
But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Rev. 21:8
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Cor. 6:9-10
To deny hell is heresy.

The Jehovah Witnesses are not Christians
they may call them self that but they are definitely not.
They don't believe Jesus was God, do what you like but be very careful, they believe the dead body becomes alive again after lying in the grave for years.
