It's because they don't want to give free advertising. They don't always do it (I have seen Martha Stewart use Old Bay seasoning and Couintreau, and Rachel Ray use Jiffy baking mixes).

They don't want to advertise what brand they are using, since it doesn't matter in the recipe. Also they don't want any legal issues with the company for using their product.

It has to do with advertising dollars.
If they are not getting paid to show a product then they don't. Simple greed. It would be nice if we saw everything.

because the show is promoting there show along with there foods and they cant promote other companies products while trying to get other products of theres sold.
