i'm remodeling my kitchen and also planning on buying new furniture for the whole house, can anyone suggest where i can obtain these for good prices, since i will be investing some money.

Check out whether there are estate auctions in your area. Once you get rooms of furniture for an incredible price you won't want to shop the stores for furniture anymore. Yes...alot of it is antiques but if you're not into that you should still check it out. In alot of cases there is newer stuff as well. You usually can preview before the day of the show to see if it is worth attending.
Are the bases of your cabinets in good shape? If they are wood and in ok shape, I would recommend painting them white and just replacing the doors. You can even get glass uppers to show off your dishware. I did this once and bought the cabinet fronts at Home Depot. I did the work myself and you would sware I spent $10K instead of the $500 that it cost me.

i wouldn't buy cheap furniture. i'd rather get one room a year of something I loved and would last than furnish the whole house with something that is not made well/comfortable.
Most important thing is to get a good mattress set. Your sleep is important and you spend a lot of time in there. I'd get a good TV and a comfortable chair / sofa. Buy stuff for the family room first since you will spend most time in there. Worry about finish your formal living room later. You can get an inexpensive kitchen set but I'd get better dining room stuff. I would not buy the full set of dining room stuff because the truth is you don't use it all. I would buy good quality table / chairs and maybe a buffet OR China cabinet but not both.
it takes time to furnish a house. don't rush out and buy it all and not be happy with it.

IKEA has great cabinets and furniture for a reasonable price. Also, if you have a Habitat for Humanity Restore, you might be able to find good cabinets which can be painted or updated in some manner.

easy life furniture has great deals on affordable furniture.i got a sofa,loveseat,chair,2end table,cocktail table for $1000.00 and free delivery.i checked out levitt's furniture same as i got was going to cost more money.on you kitchen cabinets i have heard of a few out let places on new cabnets in advertisements listed in the orange county register newspaper.
