I think that some Christians have antagonized atheists so much that they have had it up to their eyeballs.
Now some of these folks may have good intentions, but they are doing more harm than good with their preaching and witnessing. They are going about it in the wrong way. Just live a good life and be kind to others. If someone asks you about your faith, share.
Otherwise, live let live. Actions speak louder than words.
Whether anyone is atheist or not and why is irrelevant.
My theory is that atheists have been hounded to death and have just had enough.
Thanks for the question.

I think that the people that are answering at the moment have their beliefs and are not interested in changing their minds, just giving their opinion. I think sometimes Christians come off as being intolerant, but not all. Some just want to spread the love of God and tell how they feel about their beliefs.

You are generalizing. You are assuming that ALL christians are not tolerant. I am a Christian and I am tolerant. I don't agree with atheists but I am tolerant. I believe that if Christians would just be more like Jesus and walk their talk that more atheists would convert because of their example of love, kindness, gentleness, acceptance etc.. Shoving God in their face and shoving scriptures down their throats isn't going to get an atheist to convert to christianity - that is for sure.

What is absent is Love, Jesus said that love covers over a multitude of sins, time and place some times heals and a word said at the proper is like a golden apple and also a word has the power to kill. Love is the answer.

That is ridiculous. How a xtian acts or does not act has nothing to do with becoming an Atheist. We are Atheists because we do not believe that a god of any kind exists.

Atheists, don't be blaming your lack of theocracy on the Christians. You came to your decision all on your own. If not, you must be a tad whimpy.

oh, I definitely agree. I don't believe that one should shove his/her religious/spiritual beliefs down others' throats. It saddens me when I see a rude, judgmental Christian forcing their beliefs on those who have chosen not to share those beliefs up to this point. Personally, I mention it to people, and if they don't want to hear about it, I drop it. Personally, I believe that actions speak louder than words. So I try to act as I believe God would want me to; witnessing through actions is much more powerful than witnessing solely through words.

Christians should NEVER be tolerant of sin, as Christ never has been.
If atheists have a problem with that, it's THEIR problem, not the problem of a Chistian.
