It is extremely offensive when you have the attitude:
"oh you just haven't discovered the TRUTH yet"
or "you don't have have faith, that's why you don't know the TRUTH"
I get you think that is the truth. I think all of us of different faiths get that you think that. However, it is very arrogant and rude to say THE TRUTH.
Do you guys get what I'm saying? I'm not trying to offend anyone. I just feel like that is not understood, or that many of you on here don't get the difference between a Christians opinion of the truth, and someone elses.
We all just have opinions of what really explains things. Yours is no better than mine.
Can you understand my frustration and how this offends me and many other non-Christians?

I totally understand what you mean, and agree. I think it is more than impolite to claim you (and the ones who share your religion only) hold the truth - it is allmost the same as calling the rest of people stupid to their faces. Doing so makes it very clear that you are looking down on people, how can everyone not feel offended?
That is a good reason why i try my best to keep my religious beliefs to myself, I would feel very embarrased if i would have a hint that someone thinks i'm trying to convert him, or that i feel superior for my beliefs (wich i really don't)

I am so sorry if you have been offended by some of the statements that Christians make. It offends Christians too by the way some people answers. I am glad you feel free enough to voice your opinion. We are all allowed to have opinions and respect others beliefs. Thank you

There is TRUTH in every religion. Don't just target it at Christians. When you ask a question, unless stated, you're going to opinions, but I don't see why it should get to you. Although it all depends on the question asked.

I agree with you! I have had bibles thrown at me, I have been told I would not go to heaven
Although I am a Catholic I am not a bible reading christian.
I have been so turned off by these hard core Christians because if that's how you become then I don't want it!
They can keep their truth I have a personal relationship with the God inside me that has never forsaken me.

You're feeling conviction.
Why does it offend you? If someone came up to you and said "The truth is that you're parents were pink and purple spotted dolphins" you wouldn't be offended..would you? No, because you would know that that's not true.
If you knew for sure the Truth Christians have wasn't the truth you would laugh it off just like you would laugh off someone telling you your parents were pink and purple dolphins.

I central belief is just that, it is what we base our life on so when another says that we believe wrongly (even by default by saying what they believe is correct) it is deeply personal. So we all need to be careful not to take offense at another's belief because it is what they believe and if its different they still believe it to be true. Anyone who is convinced they are correct should not take offense at another but have compassion knowing (or at least thinking) that the other is deceived.

Christians use that when they have no reasonable answer to a question or point being made. The Father's and Sisters at Sunday school used to use the phrase, "Well, that's one of the mysteries !"
I always found that to be mysterious myself !

I am not sure what response you are looking for here. An apology? Christianity is the Truth. The only Truth. The fact that it offends you does not change it. I will not deny Christ or the Truth to appease someone's feelings. If I say muslims are fine. They have their beliefs and I have mine and both are valid I would be lying. I do not believe their religion is valid. In fact I know it is not. I will not pretend it is in order to be politically correct or to appease someone's feelings.

While I can understand, and certainly agree with, those who are upset with people calling themselves "Christians" but not acting like it, I do not agree with your representation.
You say that it is offensive for someone to say "I know the TRUTH" as it relates to God. But if I said "I know the truth about math and 2 + 2 does equal 4" you wouldn't argue with me. If you did, other people would be looking at you as the "crazy" one, wouldn't they?
We don't make up 2 + 2 = 4. It's a fact. A rule of mathematics. A reality.
So is God.
We didn't make Him up. And we don't define Him; He defines Himself in His Word.
