Unless you were arrested, you won't have to go to court. You can not be prosecuted, and made to pay the loss back in the same case. You will lose your job, be banned from the store, and you will have to reimburse them. Failure to comply, could result in your arrest.

As far as I know of, misdemeanors do not dq you from going to OCS, you just need a waiver to attend. The fact that you had a misdemeanor in your past, and it shows, you need the documentation apart of a file that is being built, so when you go to MEPS that paperwork will show that yes indeed you were charged, and the matter is OVER and closed. As far as your recruiter, if you're truely upset with him and think he's being lazy, you have 2 options: 1) Speak to the NCOIC of the station, usually an E7 (SFC) or E6P (SSG promotable), and let him know your concerns about the recruiter. 2) Go to a different recruiting station, and tell them the story of what the other station was doing to you. Remember, recruiters have a quota of soldiers to put into the Army every month. If you go elsewhere, that is 1 less soldier that recruiter can put into the Army. Also, putting someone into OCS is a lot more work for a recruiter, and it doesn't quount towards their quota either. So, research the requirments for go straight to OCS from the civilian world. The recruiter may just be telling you that you can't go so he can fill his quota of soldiers going into the Army for that month.

You will probably get probation and maybe community service. If you are in good physical heath, that will be picking up trash.
If you really could not stop yourself. I mean really couldn't. Like you were compelled to do it and it was as if your hands had a mind of their own; you may suffer from kleptomania. It's a very real condition. You will need to see a doctor about this and work on getting yourself well.
Next time it could be a felony and your whole life could be ruined.
Even if you never get a felony, if you are constantly stealing, your life will still eventually be ruined by this condition. In so many ways, I don't have time to list them all here.
If it was not as bad as I described and you could have stopped if you had only tried a bit harder; then practice more self control and will power in the future. The thrill of the crime is not worth the consequences. You are a young person and have your whole life in front of you. Don't ruin it by being branded a thief.

Yes I did the same thing twice! The first time was from Wal-Mart, I took 2 packs of cigs. It ended up costing me $350 plus an 8 hour shoplifting class. The second time we worked out a deal where I could pay them back with out getting the police involved. I would try to work out a deal that wont get any law enforcements involved. Since your 18 or older than it will go on your record and make getting a job a lot harder. I now work at a hotel and if you have anything on your record we can't hire them. Good Luck!

Don't steal ****. Goto court they'll put you on probation probably make you pay for what you stole give you some community service hours you have to do at goodwill or such and then just don't commit any crimes while you're on probation. It's only a misdemeanor so it shouldn't affect you too much in trying to get a job or anything because you don't have to tell an employer of misdemeanor charges.

Yes, you will have to go to court and suffer the consequences of your actions. You will be asked to repay Kohls for the items, and you might get a light jail sentence if this was your first time you could get community service.

Depends on Kohls policies. I know Walmart will march you through the store in handcuffs and prosecute. You will probably be fined and banned from Kohl stores. Bigger problem is that a theft conviction can stop you from getting employed in many places, even factories. Places that require bonding employees cannot hire you.

For starters, you don't work at Kohl's any more and you NEVER will. You can't expect to work in retail in the foreseeable future. As for what the court will do, that depends on any record you have and the judge you face.
CGIV76 is wrong, you CAN face criminal charges AND have restitution as part of your sentence.

You may have to go to court depending on if they will want to prosecute. You will def. lose your job if you havent already. See if you can work out some kind of deal so you dont have a record. Your 18 now so it wont wipe clean and that screw up can cost you a lot.
If you couldnt help yourself from stealing you need to get some therapy, there are theft addictions for the thrill of getting away with it.

It depends on your jurisdiction and their laws and attitudes toward shoplifters. However, assuming that you are a first time offender, you can likely expect to have to pay a fine and court costs, plus restitution to Kohl's. Where I live, if you pay up and keep your nose clean for the next five years, you can get your record expunged.

You are an idiot. If you haven't lost your job yet you will. You better start looking, but I wouldn't look at a retail job. This is going to be on your permanent record. You should be scared. You will probably just have to pay the fine. But there is a 3 strike rule, if you do this 2 more times you could face hard time.
Aren't you worried about what GOD is going to say when you die. Don't you want to look back on your life and think, "I was a good honest person." It might not be to late. Change your ways. Think about what is the right thing to do before you do it.
