I just got a job, and hate it. I'm thinking of applying other places now, but will it seem strange to the new employer that I am searching for a new job already?

How is the new employer going to know that you are searching for a new job??

Certianly you are not going to be stupid enough to tell them right????

That is usually grounds for automatic dismissal.

No it will not. Keep in mind thought that when you do find a job that you think you will like, you will have to assure the company that you will be there longer then two weeks. They spend a lot of time and money in the hiring/training process. Be honest with the second company when asked why you want to leave after a short time. The answer should be something on the order of reasons, for advancement, Do not belittle the company you are working for, which is easy to do.

The new company will want assurance of stability, valid reason for leaving present company, they will want to see how you respond to the questions. While doing this is relatively common it is still a hurdle you have to get past.

The best way to handle this total situation is to give your present employer a chance. Two weeks seems like a short time to determine that you don't like your job. You don't say why you don't like it but have you really given the company a chance to grow on you and vice versa.

No-it happens. You'd be wise not to quit until you find a new job.
