There is little assurance of much there. You have to work for your salvation. If you hand out literature and count the time, that is what will get you saved.
Of course the Bible tells about how there is assurance. Have a look at 1 John 5:10-12 and see what it says. It tells us that we can know if we are save.

Do you mean "assurance" as in assurance it is the truth, or do you mean assurance of salvation?
As to the first, no, there is no assurance that it is truth. It does not matter whether a religion has some doctrines correct or none at all. The foundation for a Christian MUST be the Christ of the Bible. On this foundation everything either stands or falls. The Apostle Paul warned to beware of other groups that would come preaching "another Christ" and thus, "another Gospel" other than what the Apostles preached. If you think about it: there is not ONE references by Paul, Peter, James, John, or any other apostle that indicates that the Jesus they preached was Michael the arch-angel--NOT ONE!!!
As to assurance of salvation--which Scripture plainly teaches--the WT holds out no such hope. You MIGHT earn salvation if you do enough works and IF Jehovah finds you worthy. This is not at all the Gospel that the apostles preached. Check these Scriptures, for starters: Rom. 10:9; John 5: 24; 1 John 5: 13; John 17:12. And meditate on what John 3:16 means in light of what these verses say to you. True Christians do have assurance of salvation--not because we jump thru the hoops of a man-made organization that touts "works" as its saving grace, but because Scripture is clear that we are saved by Grace thru faith in Jesus Christ.
The WT has always been a false prophet, preaching another Jesus and another Gospel. Worse, it is denying its adherents life! When you are not allowed to partake of the emblems at the Memorial Supper, Jesus says you have no life in you if you do not partake in His body and His blood. (John 6: 51-54). Think about what the implications are, then, for the eternal salvation of those who are not allowed to partake because the org. says you cannot. They are forcing you to violate a direct command of Jesus Christ. This is serious business with eternal consequences. Don't take it lightly. If you are questioning, perhaps the Holy Spirit is trying to give you a wake up call!

Hi
Have you ever heard something from another religion that does not sound quite right?
Same goes for many others here on Y! R&S about the JWs -former JWs or otherwise.
Many have found that what the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society was saying just didn't feel quite right.
I found the very beginning of the bible in Genesis did not sound right as WTB&TS taught it and then looked into different denominations taught it.
Read a lot and pray a lot. May God Almighty bless and guide you, you may be assured if you keep knocking the door will be opened. -T2T
P.S. Many are called apostates or slanderers All love Jehovah God and His son Jesus.

I don't know much about the Jehovah witnesses. I have heard stories of people who have been part of it and have felt trapped. Perhaps something you feel now?
It may be time for you to break out. Remember that love is wonderfull. Don't let religion destroy true love but break through it and fight.
The Armageddon is something that does not exist in reality. I encourage you as the person above to talk about religion with others. Be critical and ask for proof.

It is what they teach about who Jesus is that I have a hard time accepting. Do they believe they are the one true church like the mormons. God would never tell one organization that they are the one true church. The Church are His believers no matter what church they attend. When you ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior He will give you assurance that you are on the right road.

Question everything and read, study and ponder all you can. Don't just read the information from the WTBS, read about JW from many different sources including the history of the religion and court cases they have been in. Please be informed and make the decision that is best for you that you truly believe in your heart. This is the rest of your life we're talking about.

The bible makes it plain that the Christian congregation and 'the faithful and discreet slave' would be used by Christ. Each person must resolve for himself exactly constitutes "the Christian congregation" and what exactly constitutes 'the faithful and discreet slave'. One's salvation depends upon resolving his correctly.
(Ephesians 3:9-11) The sacred secret is administered which has from the indefinite past been hidden... This was to the end that now to the governments and the authorities in the heavenly places there might be made known through the congregation
(Matthew 24:44-45) The Son of man is coming. “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave whom [Jesus] appointed over his [congregation], to give them their [spiritual] food at the proper time?

simple. if you go to other religious group and ask what is the future of this planet and everything within you will realize that you won´t receive a clear idea of something that already know it is easy to see in the bible.
If you wish ask again what will happen with the earth after Armageddon? and you will see how confusing are the majority of people that claim are christians with that topic, something that is the central topic of the bible, that is when you will realize that JWs are telling the right thing about the bible.
go on do the question ...
