A flea and lice comb. It is a very fine toothed comb that will capture fleas and their eggs so you can dispose of them, either by fire (put the results of combing in a paper bag and burn it) or by dunking the comb in soapy water and removing the stuff from the comb underwater.

Bath the kittens in dawn dish soap, its mild, safe and effective at killing the fleas on the kittens. Make sure to dry them very well after the bath so they do not catch a chill leading to pnuemonia. The house will have to be vaccuumed really well and the canister or bag emptied and taken outside the house immediatley otherwise the fleas in the home will continue to get back on the kittens. They do have capstar at your vet clinic that a 1 month old kitten can have which kills fleas for 24 hours, thats all. So they can become re-infested if you do not take care of the house as well. That is the only product that can be given to 1 month old kittens do not try any topical product until they are 8 weeks old

I agree that you'll want a vet's advice about getting fleas off the little tykes.

You'll also have to dip the cat and the dog, and close them in a flea-free room while you treat the rest of the house: That's bound to be infested too.

Wash your bedding and curtains, and while you're doing that sprinkle your furniture and carpet with borax. Then vacuum after 20 minutes. And keep vacuuming every day for at least 2 weeks- which is about the life-cycle of a flea.

Good luck!

PLEASE READ THIS...Please don't use over the counter flea products. Right now my kitten she is 6 months old and is fighting for her life since yesterday morning because of Hearts flea drops!!!!! I was really stupid because I usually use the stuff from the vets but my friend said here use this, it workds good. So I thought that I would try it. Not even two hours after I put it on she started acting wierd. I thought well maybe the fleas are just going nuts on her because of the drops now. The next morning she could not use her back end at all!!!!! I paniked and gave her anouther bath to try to help her I thought she was going insane. After the bath she seemed a little more at ease but those drops soak into the blood stream. I left her clean herself and left her alone for an hour and then she was just crying and could not sit still. I held her and she got worse and worse... every part of her was spazzing even her eyes!!!! then she could barley breath!! I was in histarics and got her to my vets and by then she was so out of it and just wrapped her front paws around my arm and tryed to meow but she couldn't.. When I walked in with her I was crying so hard I could barley talk and I told them I had flea bathed her and I didn't have to say anouther word, The Vet said you used hartz flea drops on her didn't you? I said yes I did and he said never ever use that stuff and always go to the vets to get it.. I normally do but how stupid I was to just try something else. My baby Zoey is our family and she made it threw the night but at a very costly price. She is worth it to me and it's not her fault that I poisened her!! We are at a $500.00 bill right now and she has only been off the oxegen for a couple of hours now. She is haveing IV and Meds to flush her system and I just pray that I have not made her crippled or wrecked her brain because of my stupid actions of knowing better. PLEASE LET ALL THE PEOPLE YOU KNOW TO NOT USE THAT CRAP ON THIER ANIMALS... I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY ARE EVEN ALLOWED TO SELL IT AND TRUST ME IM LOOKING INTO IT.
PLEASE JUST GO TO A VETS AND IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE 6 MONTHS WORTH PHONE AROUND OR ASK THEM IF YOU CAN BY ONE TUBE AT A TIME OR HOW EVER YOU CAN DO IT FOR YOUR FINACES. I WISH YOU LUCK BUT PLEASE DON'T USE THAT STUFF IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY WHAT MY POOR KITTY IS GOING THREW AND OUR FAMILY.

call your interior sight vet, tell him the cat's weight and age (mama cat) and then bypass spend the $12.00 to purchase some FrontLine flea killer which you positioned (it is liquid) in the back of her neck, between her shoulder blades. ASK the vet first approximately mama using it for the reason that she is nursing, because it could bypass by way of her milk to the kittens. purchase a flea comb, or a human 'lice' comb (the steel variety artwork far extra advantageous than the all plastic lice or flea combs). you will get various of stay fleas off mama and her kittens this variety. Have a ziplock bag reachable to zing the comb into and %. the flea off it on a similar time because it is interior the bag (by rubbing your nail down the outdoors of the plastic bag against the comb). Then positioned the saggy on a confusing floor and use the top of a butter knife cope with, your nail, or a hammer to kill the fleas you in basic terms have been given off the comb. try this after each and each time you emoty the comb into the bag, it facilitates end the captured fleas from leaping out of the bag once you toss new ones into it. If the fleas are crawling by their eyes, throughout their face, and additionally you spot 'flea poop' in there fur (widespread as flea airborne dirt and dust) which sounds like tiny dots of dark airborne dirt and dust... then your kitties have a considerable infestation of fleas.. this could recommend it could probable be best to take all of them into the vet so as that they could de-flea them extra competently than you are able to at living house. next, purchase the $20.00 a can FrontLine flea killer spray (aerosol can) and spray the bedding, carpet, the place kitty lays, and truthfully the finished floor part of your place. by using fact congrats, for each physique flea you spot on a cat - you have hundreds of flea eggs, flea pupa, and person fleas residing on your place with you. Breeding, and laying extra flea eggs in an insane volume of time. do no longer bathe the kittens in flea shampoo, they are far to youthful and this could harm or kill them. Now, for all something of it - please seek for suggestion out of your interior sight vet. thank you, and characteristic a extreme high quality morning. i'm now going to mattress, with my own kitty. Contact your vet for flea meds that are safe for kittens that young, there are some on the market, but ask the doc first.
