Why cant you wash anolon/calpholon products in the dishwasher? I remember seeing it in the instruction manual a long time ago and since then I've been washing by hand. Its just a bother because we use the dishwasher alot and have no need for a dryer rack.

I have Calphalon and put them in the dishwasher - I guess I never read that I shouldn't! I haven't had any problems though! All my pans are still in great shape.

Over time, the abrasives in the dishwashing soap/liquid, will pit the surface of the pans. Since they are not exactly cheap, and using a dishwasher instead of the scrubbing compound does not restore the inside pan surface to it's natural non-stick condition, it's like washing your finest silk with grubby football cleats. Your choice...

I've never heard that. I've always tossed mine in the dishwasher. I didn't like Calphalon when I got it (it was a gift), but after a few months it got sort of seasoned, and now years later I love it. And I always used the dishwasher. I don't know what the harm would be.
