I think marrying someone for to help then get their greencard is greedy and wrong. Dileberately taking advantage of eachother. I thought marraige was a sacred thing. Apparently not when money is involved. I want to report someone and prevent this from happening. I strongly feel that this person is making a big mistake for the man marrying her is going to move with her far away. I know I will miss the girl moving but I want to prevent it for I feel this is the biggest mistake in her life. Please help me figure out how to resolve this anonymously. Thanks M

Well, talk to the person who's getting married to and see what he/she responses.

If they know what's happening, i don't think, it's any one's concern. But, that's just me!

The US Government takes this very seriously. My husband is in the process of getting his green card now and what these people do really sucks for legitimate married couples going through the green card process.

I would start with calling US Citizen and Immigration Services at 1-800-375-5283 - it may take a few minutes to get to a live operator but they are very helpful.

If the father is an American Citizen you could practice for Citizenship on your son that way (after hes born). If the Philippines have "beginning Citizenship" then your son is rapidly considerd a philippino, whilst he gets his US citizenship (no longer complicated to get as you and your husband are human beings, it is going to be notably much on the spot.), he will substitute right into a twin citizen. very sturdy to have!

There is! I don't know off the top of my head but look at the ICE.gov site for help.

I support you! Depending on where he is wanting to take her, she could be subjected to all kinds of nasty things because people are not as well protected in other parts of the world as they are here .... especially women. There are soooo many cases of women moving with their foreign husbands and having their children taken away from them, forced into prostitution and drugs, and/or killed!

Marrying someone for a US greencard is fraud, it is a federal crime.
You can report them to the U.S. dept of Immigration Control and Enforcement in your area.

Stay out of it. To each his own - if they're dumb enough to go through with it then it's their prerogative to do so. You can't keep people from making their own choices in a free country. If they're not breaking the law then they're free to screw up their lives any way they choose. Quit sticking your nose into other people's business - just live your life by your own set of morals and values as an example to others. If they choose to ignore the example, you've done all you can. You can make suggestions or give advice if asked, but what you're talking about here sounds like sabotage and would be just as wrong and stupid as what they are about to do.

I realize that this is, in fact, an illegal act, however, I would imagine that you would have to have to provide proof that this is the only reason the marriage is taking place.

why do you really want to stop it? 'cause you'll miss her if she moves away or because you really think it will mess up her life?

If your friend really wants to do it - for her own reasons and not for you to judge - do you think she'll still be your friend if you report her to immigration? I think not.

You should do something,. but then again, not. If that person getting married is your friend, you should definately tell her, and if she's one of your best friends, she'll understand and call it off. Please, just help your friend out, report it to the police AFTER you tell her. good luck.

Leave a tip with the INS. They count on people like you to catch these people.
