i took a picture recently that i am trying to edit. the subject is behind a wire fence (which is what i am trying to remove). i think that it is possible to do because the fence is so out of focus that all of the material behind it is visible, it is just darkened by the fence. please, step by step answers. thanks

Without seeing the image it is not possible to tell you step-by-step instructions of the best way to do this.

However, using the clone stamp tool and/or the healing brush tool AND changing the blend mode to lighten or darken is most likely the combination that will work.

I agree with reshooting if that is possible.

Use the clone tool to clone area next to the fence over the darkened area of the fence. This way takes the most time, but gives best results imo. You could also new layer > white brush > brush over darkened area > then adjust layer options to lighten darkened area. Good luck~

hey- could be really easy of really hard

if the fence is really out of focus, then try dodging it
choose a brush the size of the width of the fence (if that makes sense....)
choose the highest feather, at about 50% opacity, and take it slow
